New to Church?
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.
Key information about the church...
When & where does the church meet?
* Due to COVID-19 we cannot currently meet in person, but please do join us online every Sunday at 11am on the Crown Church, Inverness Facebook page. (click here for link)
After 'lockdown' we will return to our normal pattern of meeting for worship as below:
Our Church meets every Sunday at 9.30am, 11.00am and seasonally at 6.30pm.
Free parking is available in the car park of Crown Primary School next door.
The church is located at the corner of Kingsmills Road and Midmills Road, near the upper entrance to the Eastgate Centre in town. You can see a map on our contact us page.
What should I expect when I visit the church?
We hope you will receive a warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go.
The 9:30 service typically lasts about 45 minutes with an informal style and meets in a very relaxed atmosphere. People feel free to move around, say if theirchildren become restive.
The 11:00 service typically lasts about 1 hour and follows a traditional style of worship.
When it meets, the 6:30 service typically lasts about 50 minutes and is followed by an opportunity to further discuss the theme(s) of the service with the preacher after the service.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions. On the last Sunday of each month we share a breakfast from 10-11am between the morning services; everyone is warmly invited to join.
What happens to the kids at church?
We love the joy of sharing in worship with wee ones!
9:30 service aims to provide all-age worship where young ones are encouraged to be part of the service the whole way through.
11am service has
Creche (babies to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
Treasure Seekers (4-10 years). Can expect to explore Bible stories with games, crafts and imagination.
Cloud 10 (11+ years). Go a little more in-depth with the Bible, as we discover what it means for us living today.
Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (including singing songs) together for the first part. There will be a point in the service when the minister will announce that children can go through to their groups - children are, of course, also welcome to stay in the service if they'd prefer. Tables with Bible-exploring fun sheets, pens and games are provided in the church too!
For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life. We also maintain a WhatsApp group for parents of children in church to be able to keep in touch with each other and with what's happening in church - see one of the team to find out more!
Is there a dress code?
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
Will I have to join in?
Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
We encourage you to join us for refreshments after any services and, indeed, monthly breakfasts - a great way to get to meet people and find out more.
We have more information for you specifically if you…
I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?
Please feel free to contact us.
